The Cooperative Fire Protection Assistance (CFPA) Grant Program provides financial and technical assistance to North Dakota fire departments in cities or communities with a population under 10,000. The primary objectives of the program are saving lives and protecting property in rural areas.
In North Dakota, CFPA funds may be used for the following purposes:
Grant funding for fire hall construction or the purchase of town sirens, or EMS/rescue equipment supplies are not eligible. Purchases made prior to project approval do not qualify for funding.
2022 CFPA Grant Applications NOW available! Applications must be emailed or postmarked by Friday, November 18, 2022. A similar deadline is anticipated annually.
Awards vary based on project category. Cost sharing/matching of 50% the total project cost is required.
