    Summary

    The Wireless Panic Alarm Grant provides reimbursement for the purchase and installation of wireless panic alarms and systems during the 2023-2025 biennium for every school building used by students during the school year.

    Wireless panic alarm systems eligible for reimbursement must meet the following requirements:


    • Needs to have a wireless activation feature so any teacher or staff member can activate the alarm outside of a centralized location
    • Needs to be capable of notifying emergency first responders (law enforcement and/or fire) through 911 dispatch
    • Needs to be able to activate a school-wide alarm system or directly notify front office staff to notify the school campus of an emergency

    School districts in Oregon are eligible to apply.

    Deadline Details

    The deadline for applications for work that has not yet been done is December 1, 2024. The deadline for applications for work that has already been done is April 30, 2025. Future deadlines are contingent upon the availability of funding.

    Award Details

    Award amounts vary. School districts will be reimbursed $2,000 per school in their district. Project period ends June 30, 2025.
